Meanings will vary by culture/tribe, so it's a pretty big subject! Today, charms tend to have their own personal meaning for the wearer. For example, someone proud of their Irish heritage might have a 4-leaf clover charm to symbolize that pride. However, the 4-leaf clover's history goes back quite a ways, and is rooted in a desire for luck on behalf of the wearer.
