Charms & Charm Bracelets

Many people began collecting charms and charm bracelets when they were children, often because the piece was a gift. A popular theme bracelet for girls has always been the Alice in Wonderland theme, often with a few well-known charms like Alice, The Mad Hatter, the Cheshire cat and the Dormouse. Over time, through gifts or through your own purchases you can add to the bracelet to fill it up.

Collecting bracelets can be an expensive hobby when you’re a young person without a job, but many young people save their money and slowly add to their bracelet. Often they get ideas for different theme bracelets to expand their collection and have memories of special events or occasions or life points. For example, a sports-themed charm bracelet to commemorate the years in school when you were active in sports. Holidays are another popular theme, with collectors having a Christmas or Halloween bracelet, adding pieces to it each year. There are so many wonderfully detailed charms for each of the seasons that it’s easy to find unique pieces that no one else has.

Years ago, the charms and bracelets available were mainly silver and gold and it was quite expensive if you wanted to purchase particular charms. An individual piece could be as much as $20-$40 for each one.  Today, many bracelets like the Halloween one can be quite inexpensive because they are made from plastic or rubber and other less expensive materials.  These can be very whimsical pieces, and very affordable.

Collecting different types of charm bracelets is a lot of fun. Each one is something that you can keep for a long time with each one bringing back memories of a special time or event.
